About Us
Located in Board of Education District 1 and the Preschool region of Knox County Schools, Fort Sanders Educational Development Center is a small school tucked away in the heart of downtown at the corner of S. 21st Street and Clinch Avenue.
Opened in 1957, the school houses around 175 students, including students in preschool, as well as a Comprehensive Developmental Classroom serving students K-12. Our amazing staff is made up of certified teachers, teaching assistants, a slew of certified therapists (ie, Occupational, Physical, Speech & Language, and Vision), as well as a Social Worker. In addition, our building houses the Knox County Child Find office.
Fort Sanders Educational Development Center is committed to providing a nurturing learning environment for all children with individualized opportunities for social, emotional, physical and academic growth.
